Maria O’Neill

Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO)

Maria O’Neill is Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) for ABS. O’Neill oversees all ABS global IT operations and projects and is responsible for the development and support of all ABS applications, networks and systems, including end-user support and services, IT security, data governance, quality assurance, and disaster recovery planning.

O’Neill joined ABS in 2011 as Deputy CIO. Prior to that, she founded two companies, providing IT consulting to multiple industries, including energy, education, reinsurance and government.

Before forming her consulting companies, O’Neill spent five years working for BP North America as a division level CIO, responsible for all IT applications and infrastructure services. Prior to BP, she spent three years working as a senior executive for a startup software consulting company, Enform, which was later acquired by Sungard Data Systems.

O’Neill began her career while attending university full time, working as a software developer. Upon graduation she launched her professional career working for Exxon Computing and Network Services. She spent more than seven years managing IT projects and staff providing computing and network services to all of Exxon’s business units.

O’Neill earned a bachelor’s degree in management information systems, as well as her MBA, from Texas Tech University.
