ABS Delivered Plan Review Training Session for China MSA

China Maritime Safety Administration Internal Training Course

China Maritime Safety Administration (MSA) has organized an internal training course recently in Shanghai to further strengthen its personnel’s inspection skills and enhance ship survey management. During the training period, ABS successfully delivered a seven-day training on technical plan reviews. 29 representatives from 15 Regional MSAs participated the training.

The training course, titled “Technical Plan Review and Design Analysis”, included six days of classroom trainings and one day of on-site training, which was delivered by ABS Greater China Division (GCD) Engineering. A broad range of topics were covered during the training, including Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) 2006, SOLAS, Life Saving Apparatus (LSA), Convention on the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREG), MARPOL, Loadline & Tonnage, and Hazard Area. Upon completion of the Plan Review Training session, a Certificate of Attendance was issued by ABS for each MSA attendee.

By providing technical support and tailored trainings, ABS has strengthened ties and cooperation with China MSA and Regional MSAs in recent years. With continuous efforts and focus on safety, ABS will work more closely with authorities to promote the safety and operating conditions of ABS-classed vessels.
