Container fires continue to be a critical hazard for all containership operators. As vessel sizes and stack heights have increased in the recent years, the prevention and mitigation of fire on containerships has become even more challenging. Addressing this challenge requires a holistic approach that takes into consideration the declaration of the cargo, the stowage of the cargo, as well as fire detection and firefighting arrangements.
