ABS Delivers Advanced Cyber Solutions
(London) ABS, a leading provider of classification and technical services to the marine and offshore industries, is presenting cyber seminars in multiple locations across Europe to deliver critical safety guidance. The ABS CyberSafety® program team is presenting industry-leading guidance to address cyber-related threats and risks in the marine and offshore environments and explaining how the comprehensive ABS program can be used to combat cyber threats.
“ABS is providing real-time, practical solutions to the cyber challenges owners and operators are facing today,” says ABS Chief Technology Officer Howard Fireman. “Our approach is integrated, taking a holistic view of systems, assets and facilities to create a multi-dimensional solution.”
The ABS CyberSafety program equips ship and asset owners, vendors and managers with the first risk-based management tool for mitigating risks connected to cyber security, automated systems safety, data integrity and software verification. With the ABS CyberSafety program, ABS has compiled an industry standard with actionable items to improve cyber intelligence and security implementation. This suite of tiered services and optional notations supports a risk-based approach to tackling some of today’s most pressing cyber concerns.
“ABS delivers the only actionable guidance directly related to asset and facility security,” Fireman says. “The ABS CyberSafety program considers the technical and management challenges of both Information Technology and Operational Technology and provides a comprehensive assessment of cyber-enabled systems at sea and on shore.”
ABS can award optional certification and Classification Notations verifying cyber security plans and programs for assets and facilities as well as integrated and non-integrated control systems, encompassing software quality management, product design assessment and unit software systems.
