Regulatory News

Paris and Tokyo MOU Joint CIC on Fire Safety

From September 1^st through November 30^th of this year, the Paris and Tokyo MOUs will focus on Fire Safety implementation. Their press release detailing the joint Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) can be found here.

Port State Control Officers (PSCOs) will use a questionnaire to assess that fire-fighting systems and equipment comply with the relevant requirements, that the master and crew members are familiar with operations relating to fire safety, and that equipment is properly maintained and functioning. The questionnaire and questionnaire guidance may be found here.
