ABS Nautical Systems, the industry leading provider of integrated fleet management software for the maritime industry, hosted its 14th annual Americas User Conference, 21-23 October 2014 in Houston, Texas.
More than 90 industry professionals from over 35 companies gathered for another successful conference to learn about the product roadmap for the NS5 Enterprise fleet management software. Roundtable discussions offered attendees an opportunity to validate designs of near-term development plans for the new Crew Scheduler tool and enhancements to the Drydock and Vetting modules. Sessions also included demonstrations of the beta versions for Serialized Items and Custom Forms. In addition, the conference offered many opportunities to network with colleagues and the NS team, as well as share best practices on the use of the software.
In his opening remarks, Howard Fireman, President of Nautical Systems, shared notable developments within Nautical Systems since last year’s conference. Accomplishments largely centered on the strategic investment in resources to enhance functionality, service, performance and the user experience of the NS5 software.
“We use this conference as a platform to garner user feedback and insights that help us strengthen our core products and services.” said Fireman. “Based on this feedback, we will continue to invest in developing new capabilities that help our clients promote operational efficiencies, reduce maintenance costs and support a safety culture throughout their organizations through the use of the NS5 Enterprise software suite of products.“
During the opening session, Stephen Schwarz, Vice President and COO of Nautical Systems, discussed the results of the first annual NS Customer Satisfaction Survey and presented action plans related to product documentation, support, professional services and communications. “We wanted to better understand how our clients feel about our product and services,” said Schwarz. “The insight we gained has helped us to recognize the areas that still need improvement.”
Results from the conference evaluation revealed 90 percent of the participants stated the conference met their expectations and 82 percent are likely to recommend the conference to other colleagues. Some of the comments included: “This was one of the best conferences I have attended in years”; “I enjoyed hearing other users talk about how they use the system”; and “The conference was well planned and informative and it was good to see the new features that have been added to the software.”
Plans for the 2015 User Conferences are currently underway to be held in Europe, Asia and the US. Dates and venues will be announced as they become available. Please take a moment to view highlights from the 2014 Americas conference.
