ABS chairs Centres of Technical Excellence program at Gastech

ABS Technical Excellence Program Speakers

ABS took part in the Gastech 2015 exhibition and conference in Singapore, sponsoring Thursday’s Centres of Technical Excellence (CoTEs) program and participating in the main conference sessions.

Vice President, Global Gas Solutions, Patrick Janssens chaired the CoTEs session on Offshore Technology, featuring presentations from FMC Technologies, KOGAS and Wartsila.

Director of Global Gas Solutions Tor-Ivar Guttulsrod presented a technical and regulatory review of FLNG’s coming of age as a solution for stranded gas. Guttulsrod examined the historical parallels between development of FPSO and FSRU technology with the evolution of FLNG and what class and regulatory structures would be required to support it.

The CoTEs program is a popular technical seminar series that delivers knowledge, education and awareness of technological developments and applications in the gas and LNG industries.

Janssens also chaired the Thursday afternoon Special Focus Stream of the Gastech conference on FLNG Innovation with Containment and Storage. The session saw contributions from Shell Global Solutions, Black & Veatch, Samsung Heavy Industries, Arup Texas, CNOOC, PT PLN Persero and the Galway Group.
