ABS was recently invited by Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) to celebrate the delivery of their 2,000th vessel. The lunch was hosted by K.S. Choi, HHI Chairman and CEO, in honor of the ABS-classed Ocean BlackLion drillship, which marked the 2,000th vessel delivered by HHI from its shipyard in Korea. The 6thgeneration DP3 drillship built for Diamond Offshore is rated for operation in 3, 600 m (12,000 ft) water depth.
The celebration took place at the HHI Guest House in Ulsan, Korea. K.S. Choi, and other key HHI executives attended the event. ABS Chief Operating Officer Tony Nassif gave a congratulatory speech and presented K.S. Choi with a crystal eagle.
