ABS Wins Best Class Society Award

ABS was named Best Classification Society at the Lloyd’s List Middle East and Indian Subcontinent Awards in Dubai on 18 November 2014. The award recognized the contribution by ABS to classification services in the Middle East region, where it supports the largest offices in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Bahrain, and employs the largest survey team in the region with 63 marine and offshore surveyors and engineers.

ABS currently has the largest presence of any classification society in the Middle East. ABS continues to be the leading class society in the offshore sector supported by the number of offshore newbuilds. All of the offshore drilling units under construction in the UAE are being built to ABS class.

This is the second consecutive year that ABS won the award for Best Classification Society at the Lloyd’s List Middle East and Indian Subcontinent Awards.
