California SLC Proposes Amendments to State Ballast Water Regulations

The California State Lands Commission (SLC) has issued proposed amendments to the Performance Standards and Assessment Protocols for the Discharge of Ballast Water for Vessels Operating in California Waters which include amendments to the ballast water sampling port requirements and establish protocols to assess vessel compliance with the performance standards for the discharge of ballast water. A public hearing will be held on the proposed amendments on 17 April in Long Beach and written comments may be submitted to the Commission up to 17 April.
