ABS participated in the 29th Gastech 2017 Exhibition and Conference took place at Makuhari Messe in Chiba-city, Tokyo, Japan on April 4-7, 2017. Ten of Japan’s leading energy companies hosted Gastech 2017 as Japan is recognized as the world’s largest LNG consumer market and a leading component of gas and LNG technology.
ABS was involved in many aspects of Gastech’s multi-streamed conference. Patrick Janssens, Vice President of ABS Global Gas Solution, chaired the renowned Floating Storage & Regasification Units (FSRU) Technical sessions. Mark Corsetti, ABS Director of Gas Development, presented on Inspection Plans for Gas Carriers and Sean Bond, ABS Director of Global Gas Development, presented on Technical Development and Construction of the First Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Carrier at the LNG Shipping-Ship Deign & Build session. Bo Wang, ABS Manager of Marine Technology, presented on Sloshing Assessment of a Membrane LNG Carrier During Loading/Offloading at a FLNG Terminal at Floating LNG: Design & Technology Session.
ABS booth received many visitors through the 4-day event. Both existing and potential clients had valuable discussions with ABS technical experts from the Global Gas Solutions, Corporate Technology and local offices on interests/projects regarding U.S. Gas Export, LNG Bunkering, FSRU, and more.
