As one of the leading maritime events in the region, Seatrade Offshore Marine & Workboats Middle East Exhibition and Conference in Abu Dhabi, September 25-27, provided a key setting for workboat operators and service providers to showcase their latest technologies and sector developments. ABS demonstrated its investment in innovation, both on the stand and in technical sessions.
Officially inaugurated by HH Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Department of Transport, the show attracted over 3000 maritime professionals.
ABS demonstrated advanced technology inspections at the Seatrade Drone Zone, with DronePro, giving visitors insight into the future of classification and the role that wearables and drones can play in improving an offshore unit’s efficiency. ABS Engineer Julie Pray and ABS Senior Principal Surveyor Unni Nair, along with a DronePro representative, demonstrated and discussed the technologies with show attendees. The key message was using remote and wearable technologies, leveraging data to afford safer and less intrusive surveys, to increase operating uptime.
Unni Nair, ABS Senior Principal Surveyor moderated the Smart Operations session, in which various data-driven analytics and autonomous technologies were presented.
