ABS Academy Awards Certification of Appreciation Plaques to Angelicoussis Shipping Group and Pontos Marine
During the Posidonia exhibition this week, ABS Academy awarded Certification of Appreciation plaques to Angelicoussis Shipping Group and Pontos Marine, Inc. The plaques honor each organization’s longstanding commitment to providing systematic corporate training of its personnel to improve safety and operational effectiveness. Angelicoussis Shipping Group received its award Tuesday afternoon while Pontos Marine received its plaque on Wednesday.
“The ABS Academy Certificate of Appreciation is awarded as recognition of a company’s continual endeavor to train personnel, which plays a leading role in the company’s future growth and success,” said ABS’ Divisional Learning Centre Manager of Europe, Lefteris Karaminas. “We are proud to acknowledge Angelicoussis Shipping Group and Pontos Marine, Inc., for their commitment to excellence for their employees.”

These clients’ dedication to consistent training helps protect the safety of personnel and assets as well as improve the reliability of shipping operations.
ABS Academy provides training courses and career development programs to many of the world’s leading shipowners and shipbuilders across the globe. ABS Academy courses satisfy the requirements of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA), the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) for continuous professional development.
ABS also offers certification of maritime training courses and eLearning. The certification program verifies that the training is uniform in quality and meets certain minimum criteria for its development, content, delivery and quality management standards.
