ABS Hosts Dual Fuel Workshop in Athens
Download Photo More than 30 industry stakeholders joined ABS for a half day workshop in Athens to discuss the latest on technical and operational challenges of LNG as a marine fuel.
The workshop presenters discussed the latest thinking on a range of key LNG issues, including technology for dual fueled ships, regulatory framework and firsthand operational experience of LNG-fueled vessels.
Vassilios Kroustallis, ABS Vice President of Europe, opened the event by welcoming the participants and providing background on the seminar.
Guest speaker Miltos Zisis, Managing Director at Capital Gas Ship, delivered a presentation providing a conceptual comparison between LNG Carriers and LNG fuel vessels. Manos Migadis, Newbuilding Manager at Dynacom Tankers Management, presented on the potential risks associated with using LNG as fuel and LNG bunkering. Stavros Hatzigrigoris, Managing Director of Maran Gas, covered the LNG bunkering industry infrastructure.
