ABS Hosts Gas Focused Seminar in Dubai
ABS Dubai hosted a seminar exploring Gas as a Marine Fuel, providing the UAE shipping community with a practical approach in evaluating the long-term potential, technical and operational challenges and opportunities for gas as a marine fuel.
The ABS Global Gas team discussed market trends and ongoing projects; regulations and environmental emissions impact; fuel containment, gas supply systems and engine options; benefits, challenges and risk mitigations facing the early adopters; LNG bunkering and simultaneous operations as well as Flag State acceptance.
Guest speaker Ibrahim Behairy from WinGD presented an overview on innovative solutions in reducing marine propulsion emissions with their two-stroke low-speed gas and diesel engines.
ABS provides industry leadership, offering guidance in liquefied natural gas (LNG) floating structures and systems, gas fuel systems and equipment, gas carriers, and regulatory and statutory requirements. ABS has extensive experience with the full scope of gas-related assets and has been the classification society of choice for some of the most advanced gas carriers in service.
