ABS Pacific hosted Regional Technical Committee Meetings

ABS hosted the annual technical committee meetings across the Pacific region in February — Yokohama, Japan, Busan, Korea and Singapore.

ABS technical committee members from Pacific and Middle East region, shipbuilders, designers and owners from industry leading companies, discussed the proposed ABS Rule changes covering hull, structures, machinery, surveying and more.

Bill Shi, Vice President of Global Engineering, and his team across the region provided industry insights and latest updates on world shipping and the shipbuilding outlook, as well as regulatory updates, smart ship, autonomous and technology developments.

Bill acknowledged the continuous support and technical contributions provided by individual division technical committee members to ABS.

During the meeting, committee members proactively offered suggestions and feedback on proposed rule changes and future technology developments.

As the leading classification society, ABS strives to work closely with the industry key players in developing important rules and technologies.
