ABS Seminar on MEPC 72 Updates was held in Busan, Korea on 3 May
ABS held the seminar to deliver the latest updates from the IMO MEPC 72 in Busan. Thomas Kirk, Principal Advisor at WarrenOcean, LLC, the former ABS Director, Environmental Performance who now is a private sector advisor and a member of US delegation at IMO provided the overview of the outcomes from the MEPC 72 sessions and the impacts for the shipowners and operators.
The sessions covered the summary of developments of environmental regulations, update of Ballast Water Management Convention including the latest information of ballast water treatment technologies, air emission issues including the global sulfur cap, exhaust gas scrubber consideration, EU MRV, IMO DSC and GHG update.
Matthew Mueller, Director of Business Development, ABS Advanced Solutions introduced ABS Advanced Solutions service that is comprised of cyber security, Asset Management and Advanced Engineering as a beneficial solution of the challenges for the shipowners & operators.
