Amendments to the California’s BW Discharge Standards

California Assembly Bill No.1312 Assembly Bill No.1312 delays the interim ballast water discharge standards from 1 January 2016 by four years as follows:

New builds (constructed on/after 1 January 2020) – first arrival after delivery
Existing vessels (constructed before 1 January 2020) – first scheduled drydocking on or after 1 January 2020.

The revised implementation date for final performance standard (zero detectable living organisms) is 1 January 2030.
