AMSA Marine Notice 03-2015

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) has issued Marine Notice 03/2015, “Directions and Refusal of Access to Australian Ports”. This notice details the conditions under which AMSA may issue a direction refusing access to Australian ports, to a vessel with a poor PSC record or where there are concerns about the performance of the vessel’s operator. Access to Australian ports may be refused from a period of between 3 months to 24 months, depending on the number of detentions and any previously issued direction refusing access.

A list of vessels subject to an AMSA direction not to enter or use an Australian port can be found on the AMSA website.
