Alex Gonzalez, ABS Metallurgical and Materials Engineer, has held multiple positions within ABS, including materials engineering, new construction survey and ABS Technology. He has led ABS efforts on additive manufacturing (AM), developing the ABS Advisory on Additive Manufacturing, and the recently published, ABS Guidance Notes on Additive Manufacturing.

Prior to joining ABS, Alex attended the Colorado School of Mines, where he received his undergraduate degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering.

Demetri Stroubakis
ABS

Demetri Stroubakis, ABS Director of Equipment and Materials, is a twenty six year veteran of ABS. He has extensive experience in numerous naval and commercial ship new construction projects and is a subject matter expert in equipment and material certification activities. Demetri has held many positions of increasing responsibility during his ABS career, most recently serving as Assistant Chief Surveyor for Global Materials and Equipment certification. 

Prior to joining ABS Demetri served as an officer in the US Navy. He completed his undergraduate degree in Marine Engineering from the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, NY, and is a graduate of Texas A&M Mays School of Business, Executive MBA program.
